a friend of mine went to poland last week and deliberately didn't go to auschwitz. i can understand her reasoning - when i went to anne frank's house last week it just seemed like a tourist trap, almost as though all the meaning is taken away and everything is staged. still, i'd love to go to auschwitz. although maybe love isn't the right word. anyways, after all the news about the surveillance culture/society that we now live in i wonder if we're as lucky as we could be ...

I agree with Mrs Finger that "love to go to " isnt the word but you are kind of drawn to it as somewhere you ought to visit. How long did you go out there for? Was it just the day or longer?
