And it kinda decided to, you know, just fly into the Brownie meeting. 16 under-tens in mild hysterics is not what one wants. No wonder it produced several droppings. Fortunately, the Brownie hall has a downstairs. So we packed the girls into that, having a meeting on the subject of "idiotic pigeons and their habits" including "why do pigeons fly into closed windows" en route, chased the pigeon onto a cupboard next to the most inaccessible window in the hall, sent up the Girl Guide helper to open the window, and chucked it out with the aid of a broom.
Meanwhile, I ache far to much to achieve anything. I would go back to sleep, but I couldn't sleep this morning. I'd intended to just be getting up now. Instead, rooms are tidier, the laundry is begun, I've done the shopping and I've failed to buy series 2 of House, since it's out of stock in the local Megastore.
Yesterday' softball tournament was exhausting. It rained all day. I wore four layers, five including a kagoule, and was just about the right temperature. One of the guys was so cold that I lent him my scarf. We got rained off several times, and did a lot of falling over in the mud. I have new softball bruises, and I must learn to stop fielding with my shins. However, I'm getting more confident and I can actually throw the ball a decent distance now. This is nice. Overall, we came second, which I think makes this the first time that I have ever managed to be in the team that's made it to the final of anything that didn't involve music.
Chuffed to bits. If a little incoherent.
