List
It’s cold. Yesterday, it poured with rain, and I got soaked on the way home from Guides – by soaked, I mean sopping wet jeans up to mid thigh, and I was wearing a long coat to boot. Mascara running, glasses obliterated, hair soaked through the woollen hat. Today, the sky’s a beautiful clear blue and it’s utterly freezing. I mean, really, really horribly cold, in the sort of way that makes one wonder if one’s about to go down with sinusitis.
Oxford Street was closed to traffic, which meant that it was a pleasant experience wandering down there to meet up with the Dishy Barrister to collect the CD of Just William reading that he’s done for me. Apparently he had a lovely time reading it, and is now considering doing a batch of readings for his little brother, Indiana Jones, and his parents for Christmas. Meanwhile, I still need to do my reading for the CD that I’m preparing. Sigh. This is something to do tonight. I’ve been putting it off and putting it off, because I am feeling Unconfident about my ability to put words in the correct order at the moment. For someone who talks so much, I do trip over my words on a very regular basis, and the jetlag isn’t helping. I did sleep through the night, more or less, last night, and I’m beginning to feel a lot less ill. The burping is reducing too. Huzzah. I do not have Giardia, which I was beginning to wonder about. We met at a wonderful cafe, just off Bond Street, called ‘L’Amour Encore’, which is utterly wonderful as it makes buckwheat pancakes, and has wheat free muffins, and something else wonderfully wheat free, and everything tastes utterly great. I was treated to brunch. I feel rather full now, in a ham-and-cheese-pancake way. I shall be patronising that cafe rather a lot, as I agree with the DB, it’s very fine.
Do readingTis ridiculously long. I had to splice it.Put together the CD,label it, decorate the CD cover, write up the order for the CD cover, and prepare card for people to sign tomorrow At The Zoo.Eeek. It goes across about four CDs! Worse, I do not have any CD covers. Moreover, we are not going to the zoo. Um. I shall have to go to coffee en route to the Office Christmas Party on Thursday to achieve some signage. What a shame
Makeandwrite Christmas Cards– I’ve been to John Lewis and bought the necessary equipment for 75 Christmas Cards, which I sure hope will be sufficient. About 50 are written. I’m lacking addresses, as usual. If you want one, and feel that you may be one of those people for whom I lack an address, please message. I feel my first batch is now completed.- Make Holly’s Christmas Hat – it’s a Christmas Pudding hat, designed by Debbie Bliss before she was Debbie Bliss Yarn, and it’s adorable. It’s in Kids’ Knits for Heads, Hands and Toes, which I bought from eBay. I think. I was inspired by Jane Brocket. I am very inspired by that blog. It’s a Favourite.
- Make a new hat for me (I’ve lost my favourite hat, and I cannot function without it: naturally, it was something I knitted myself, out of yarn that’s no longer available. I’ve got a good substitute though. This is more urgent than it might be otherwise, owing to my other woolly hat being soaked)
Work out who’s getting what for Christmas, and try to wrap things.Place order at Lush as required.I’ve got a list of who. It is upsettingly blank in places. I am getting Wound Up, which is sad, because these are small gifts as expressions of friendship.- Block Hanami. The apocalypse is evidently upon us, as it is now pinned out on the spare bed!

I’m really rather happy knitting it, particularly now I’ve corrected the mistake I made which threw off round 22, but it’s not what I’m supposed to be knitting right now.
Upload India photos to Xanga and FacebookFlickr. Uploaded!- Start listing things on eBay.
